About Us

The principle managing partners of ChronoEngineering, with over 45 years of dedicated commitment to developing viable tools that mitigate human fatigue.

David E Nash

David E. Nash, founder and managing partner in ChronoEngineering and has Civil, Industrial and Mechanical Engineer degrees with a Master Degree in Organizational Behavior and is a world-wide recognized expert and specialist in Scheduling. He has helped hundreds of Fortune 500 companies over the past 47 years, spearheading Fatigue and Scheduling Solutions to help manage employee safety and health. David has worked with most of the top leading scheduling consultants in North America for 27 of the last 45 years. He is the founder of the National Association for Shift-work Health, being further developed by the US government. With over 47 years in the industry, he also designed and developed over 100 copyrighted modules, eight software-scheduling programs, with Mobile Apps for 24/7 shiftworkers and also the conceptual founder of the biomathematical model FIRM and FIRM II.

Dr. Dave Johannsen

Dr. Dave Johannsen is chief architect and managing partner of ChronoEngineering and serves as general liaison in all information technology matters regarding, FIRM and FIRM II, PRISM, FIRM, LENS, LENSmobile, Smart Relief, Visual Aim, ISOP and TSS. He has served as LENS's chief design and architect for 12 years and holds significant IP to many features incorporated into fatigue management systems. He is also a partner in the IP of all PASS tools. His education ran concurrent with a BS in Electrical Engineering, and a MS in Computer Science, Caltech, 1978. He received his PhD, in Computer Science, from Caltech, in 1981. His doctoral thesis was entitled "Silicon Compilation", a technique he invented using computer programs to design custom integrated circuits.

The following is the overview of the PASS Fatigue management system of which he has designed to integrate all tools in our PASS engine.

All Predictive Analytic Scheduling Solutions are a derivative, at their CORE, from the design and functionality of a biomathematical model to predict anyone's fatigue state. This 'brain' is called FIRM (Fatigue Index Risk Measurement).

Three software tools that address fatigue, which Dr. Johannsen has designed and programmed:

FIRM I & FIRM II

PRISM- Predictive Risk Intelligent Safety Module

Staffing Optimizer

Schedule Simulator (Schedulator)

ISOP - Intelligent Schedule Optimization Program

TSS - Task Scheduling Software

Visual AIM - Alertness Index Measurement

SMART RELIEF

LENS - Lifestyle Education & Notification for Shiftworkers

along with Mobile apps in iPhone and Android
